Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?
I haven't much words for this title because the animation
and artwork didn't really leave that much of an impression
on me, so I'd say it's pretty average tech-wise.
What actually seems bizarre is the fact that the leading
man has some sort of a multiple personality disorder. It is
subtle and not as blatant as with the case of Sprite,
but it is definitely present to me. He was humble and kind,
especially during the day. He's so loving, gentle, caring
and thoughtful that you would think he's quite the guy. Fast
forward a little until it becomes night time and you'll see
the horny little devil he is.
The details on the ecchi scenes? Well, not much, except for
the last part when our naughty professor tries to be a little
more daring in his show of affection.

From Mr. Hyde to Human Sex Fiend!
If I had good feelings about this peculiar couple, it just
flew out the window after watching the original Japanese continuation
of Teacher's Pet, which is known to Japanese h-lovers
as Natural. The man has turned into a regular sex buffoon
who, after winning the heart of our female lead, starts chasing
other skirts (or rather, swimsuits) shortly after. He's even
more perverted than before.
One good thing about this anime, though, is that I've appreciated
my fiancé more and I'm thanking the heavens I didn't
end up with a guy like that maniac.
Now my main gripe: Why do original Japanese titles have pixelated
areas where genitals should have been??? It looks weird! If
you're gonna watch this for the sex, you might as well get
the U.S. release. They definitely show more!

No sleeping in class!
Lets dissect the events of Teachers Pet, shall we? Right,
we start with dopey pink-haired Chitose who's madly 'in love'
with her sometime-sadistic sisters ex, Haruhiko. He also happens
to be her teacher and appears a very quiet, sensitive soul
on the surface. In school, another student AND another teacher
also thinks very fondly of our horny Haru. Through the course
of four episodes, being the opportunist that he is, Haru has
his wicked way with all of them.
The plot was instantly forgettable. You know, I sat and watched
this for nigh-on two hours and I still can't remember any
story details aside from the sex scenes (naturally!). There
are two possible explanations for this; either I have a poor
memory capacity or absolutely nothing happened. I'm inclined
to go with the latter on this one. From my experience with
hentai, an average show usually tries to cram way too much
into its episodes, because it doesn't have the luxury of a
budget to work with. Not so with Teachers Pet. Green Bunny
worked on this and their stuff tends to look very decent.
Plus they got Kan Fukumoto (La Blue Girl) on board as director.
And, despite the sheer tedium factor I was experiencing while
trudging through TP, there's actually a sequel.
Kill me now.
Thankfully, Teachers pet boasts some nice character designs
(shame the writers couldn't return the favor and give the
characters brains) and artwork that sort of make up for the
shows obvious shortcomings. And the sex is generally quite
sexy, in the face of some semi-consensual situations. It's
an old chestnut in hentai, but the girls seem to like it regardless,
so what can you do? Sigh. And Chitose is REALLY cute. But
still dumb.
One final point I'd like to make regards the odd level of
detail in the H scenes. Ranging from full-blown, show-every-detail-and-then-some
explicitness, to applying more subtle camera angles and the
like. And if I were Haruhiko I'd be slightly worried that
my genitalia had an inexplicable tendency to vanish at random
moments. Watch it and see...
So, four bilingual episodes of a decently animated adult
anime, got to be worth it, right? Well, I guess, even though
Teachers Pet takes those four episodes to do what other shows
would do in two.
