Serve Me!
Having experienced easy bgaming with Kango
Shicyauzo, I’ve learned to look forward to Trabulance
games. I’m Gonna Serve You 4 is short, sweet, fun and
definitely not boring. Let me tell you why…
Gameplay
Options that make playing this a breeze include the message
skip, fast forward mode, and of course storyline hints. The
last one is my favorite, seeing as one doesn’t need
to sift through a walkthrough just to get the good and best
endings. Not that you’d need much of the hints, anyway,
as the choices are no-brainers. At least that ensures you're
gonna have a good time!
You can turn voices on and off as well as adjust message
speed. Best of all, seeing as I’m Gonna Serve You 4
isn’t tedious like most novel-type bishoujo games out
there, you don’t need to save too many times. I didn’t
mind repeating some paths from the start.
The game prompts you to save at the onset of key choices,
which is kinda convenient for those who keep forgetting to
save. And before I fail to mention it, one unique feature
of this bgame is the Character Selection Screen that shows
up before every chapter. This makes it easier for your path
to unfold.
Story and Characters
With four lovely women to spend time with in the restaurant,
you’d definitely expect a lot of…um, naughty thoughts.
You have demure Himeko, our protagonist Koji’s childhood
friend, who acts like a kid most of the time. Chizuru, on
the other hand, is like a tough older sister to Koji, somewhat
dominant and ready to put things in order when they start
to get out of hand. Now gentle and mysterious Takano is supposedly
Koji’s cousin. But there’s something unusual about
this girl, and it’s up to you to find out what it is.
Leo is another mystery. She doesn’t speak much but she’s
quite good at what she does.
The only thing that bugs me in their situation is that all
of these girls willingly (and vocally) let Koji choose whom
he wants to be with. It’s like having a harem and then
you pluck only one in the end. Why this bothers me? It’s
that you have to choose and everyone knows it. Why not just
select the girl of your choice in your head and develop a
relationship with her? At least the rest of the other women
could keep their dignity and pride intact.
This aside, it’s a relief to find that each fork leads
to a different emotion. Of course, most of them border on
the tragic and sad, but then there are also quite a few exciting
surprises, especially when it comes to Leo’s and Takano’s
endings. Himeko’s road is my favorite, though, because
it has empowerment written all over it even if I don’t
really like Himeko much.
Another interesting to note is that when you get the best
endings for each female, you get to see their points of view.
Audiovisuals
Voices and cute background music have always been considered
pluses. Artistically speaking, everyone looks exquisite, counting
yummy Koji. My only beef with the artwork is that all the
“waitresses” are of the same size and/or body
type. For instance, Himeko’s supposedly flat-chested.
But then her boobs don’t look any different from the
three other girls. What’s up with that? And speaking
of small breasts, if Himeko's flat...then more than half the
world's female population have concave chests. Yowch.
Minus a few points for the several typos—like soar(sic)
spots, and minor his/he's/you're/your errors—I saw in
some dialogue boxes.
Hentai Aspects
There’s really not much to say. The h-scenes are pretty
“traditional”. The girls are all virgins, so expect
blood shedding. Urgh. S&M or any other strange fetishes
are not to be found here. But, ohohoho! When it comes to serving
H, I’m Gonna Serve You 4 is fast! You’d have it
within the first few dialogues. Heh.
