Wicked, Wicked Fun
Considered as one of the forefathers of the infamous Viper
Series, Viper GTS is fun, exhilarating, effortless and best
of all
SHORT. Ironically, for an old game, this one places
high regard for its replay value in that the choices you make
would definitely determine how long you're going to stay in
the game. There are about 6 paths and 10 CG chapters to the
story and getting to the next chapter depends on how well
you guess the right options. If you don't practice good judgment,
you will be treated to an angry Mercedes, Carrera, or some
other character, and your little adventure will abruptly end.
Not to worry about these dead ends, though. Your CG Gallery
will give you an idea on where the next chapters start, which
makes it painless to identify where you've gone wrong. For
instance: If out of 10 chapters, you only were able to unlock
about 7 of them, all you have to do is check the scenes before
the missing chapters and load your game from there. It is
advisable that you save before every option, so you won't
have any trouble trying out different combinations or tediously
start from scratch.
Viper GTS presents cute, albeit primitive, art and animation.
It also has voice acting, which makes things easier for adept
listeners to understand the conversation if they can't read
Japanese. Those who are new to Japanese reading, however,
need not fret. The dialogues are simple and straightforward,
as they don't make use of higher level kanji. I won't get
much into what little there is to tell about the story, since
I don't want to ruin your day with spoilers, but you can expect
to see devils, angels, a depraved demon summoner and lots
and lots of humor.
Other features available in Viper GTS are the music mode,
replay mode and background information.
