Hentai Gradius
Well…there really isn't much to say about Viper Limited
Edition. There's no plot, no major gameplay learning curves,
or any other interesting character for that matter. What we
basically have here is a shoot 'em up game that's quite reminiscent
of that 80s Nintendo Family Computer game called Gradius.
What I recognize, though, is Carrera of Viper
GTS and she's the hot babe you're going to be using as
your "ship"…except she doesn't look like a
hot babe here at all. Instead, she's a cute little pixie that
fires pellets (ala Megaman/Rockman style) and missiles at
those equally cute enemies you encounter in the field. Like
Gradius, you can get bonuses like level ups and weapon upgrades
from some of the beasties you kill. You also have to dodge
rocks.
From time to time you'd find yourself in the midst of a really
messy field where you don't think you can dodge enemy bullets
or rocks. When this happens, you can always press "X"
to activate a bomb. Use this feature sparsely, as you can
only bomb three times—unless you get special items that
let you replenish your bombs.
I've never been good at Gradius, so I was lousy at this game.
To tell you the truth, I found it quite difficult. The Options
menu lets you raise the number of times you can continue,
the number of lives available to you and the difficulty level
itself. Even when I maxed all these out, I can't get past
Stage 2. Too many rocks. I guess I need an "up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right-B-A-B-A-select-start"
cheat code here, huh?
But here's the good news, you don't have to actually play
this game if you want to get hold of those hot hentai ladies
in action. Just rummage through the disc's subfolders (via
Windows Explorer) and you'll discover a whole load of high-resolution
graphics from other Viper games. Now I know why they made
this Limited Edition. The sheer number of beautiful CG galleries
within the disc is enough to make this a collector's item
indeed. Oh and yes…have I mentioned this game has erotic
screensavers for your PC?
